HSIS Early Years - Developing Maths for three and four year olds

This session supports early years practitioners to reflect on the significance of the mathematical development of young children in their care. It develops skills and confidence of practitioners by providing practical ideas to support the delivery of maths across the whole curriculum and clear guidance about assessment, observation and planning.
Aims of the training:
- Understand what the EYFS says about maths and what is required of early years provider, including what is coming up in the EYFS reforms.
- Increase their confidence in delivering maths
- Be confident in observing, assessing and planning for maths
- Know how maths links to the other areas of learning and development
- Know a range of different teaching methods for different learning styles, ages and abilities
- Use practical ideas for maths indoors and outside.
